The stately home gained significant recognition as Mr. Darcy’s residence, Pemberley, in the 2005 film adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice,” starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. Jane Austen is believed to have drawn inspiration for Pemberley from Chatsworth House while writing the novel near Bakewell, just six miles away.
