LGBTQ+ streaming platform Revry has recently unveiled its inaugural full-length original scripted series, Unconventional. Conceived by Kit Williamson, known for his previous work on the critically acclaimed series EastSiders, Unconventional features Williamson in the lead role as Noah as he navigates the complexities of marriage, higher education, and even the intricacies of sperm donation for his sister's wife.

The cast includes James Bland from Giants, Aubrey Shea known for Nashville, and Briana Venskus from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with a guest-star lineup that includes Kathy Griffin, Beau Bridges, Willam, and Jenna Ushkowitz.

Nine episodes of the show are currently available for free on platforms such as Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel, Vizio WatchFree+, Peacock, and the Revry mobile app. But while the episodes have received positive responses from audiences, there has been some discussion surrounding the censorship of certain elements such as profanity and nudity on the Revry app. While some viewers find the censoring—such as the use of bleeps and pixelation—somewhat distracting, others appreciate the availability of the show in any form, allowing for broader access to queer content.
